Romanians always had a special relationship with nature and saw trees as sacred symbols, keeping the world together and being part of every important ritual of passing in a man's life.

Once upon a time, whenever someone died, a sapling was planted on their grave, so that it would grow straight from that person's body and guide their soul to Heavens. It was believed that on the other side, that sapling will turn into a spectacular, larger than life tree, bearing plentiful fruit to feed and offer shade to the soul to rest in peace.
